Credits & Change Log

Thank you to the people who made this guide possible.

31 July 2018: Created the initial guide based on the work of the following people:
* Icy Vein's Restoration Druid Healing Guide (Legion 7.3.2)
* Jaydaa’s Restoration Druid Guide – Legion 7.3.2
* Jaydaa’s Restoration Druid Rotation Guide – Legion 7.3.2
* Noxxic's Restoration Druid Healing Guide: Level 110, Patch 7.3
* Dvorak Gaming’s Restoration Druid Guide
* Wordup's Feral Druid Guide

I will add more information in the coming days.

Choosing a Class

You will invest hours, weeks, or perhaps even months of real-time into your character, so before we jump into the guide, let’s make sure the Restoration Druid is for you.

Roles

There are three roles in World of Warcraft - Tank, Healer, and DPS.

Tanks
Tanks are responsible for keeping aggro (the attention of mobs), self-preservation through healing and mitigations, and interrupts. In dungeons, they are natural leaders, deciding how many mobs the group can safely pull at once without dying (the more the better, due to AoE damage). In certain dungeons, they also choose the direction. In raids, they must often swap aggro with another tank at proper times.

Healers
Healers are responsible for keeping everyone alive through healing, absorptions, mitigations, and dispelling. They arguably have the most intense role, as they do not have set rotations - everything is triage.

DPS
DPS (damage per second) are responsible for the damage and interrupts. They have fairly set rotations that they must follow in order to put out the best DPS. Most end-game players track DPS with the Recount addon, meaning good DPS players get quite a bit of praise.

All roles are responsible for proper positioning, crowd control, and using defensive debuffs when necessary to mitigate damage.

Healing Classes
If you would like to play a healer, you have several options. All classes are viable for all content, but some are stronger healers in certain circumstances.

Restoration Druids
Healing Focus: HoTs (Heal over Time)
Strength: High mobility - Virtually all abilities may be cast on the move.
Weakness: Slow to react to unexpected spike damage - They should strive to anticipate damage and have mitigations or HoTs already up.
Best For: Progression Raiding. High Level Keys.

Holy Paladins
Healing Focus: Single-target.
Strength: Survivability.
Weaknesses: Low mobility. Melee Class.
Best For: Tank Healing. High Level Keys
.

Discipline Priests
Healing Type: An alternating cycle of direct heals and healing through DPS.
Best For: Raid Healing.

Holy Priests
Healing Type: HoTs and single-target.
Strength: High healing output.
Best For: Raid Healing.

Restoration Shamans
Healing Focus: Single-target and group.
Strength: High utility. Multiple group emergency heals.
Weakness: Lower healing output than other classes if emergency heals are not used effectively.

Mistweaver Monks
Healing Focus: Single-target, group, and HoTs.
Strengths: Well-rounded. High mobility.
Weaknesses: Underestimated by other players. May be passed over for another healer.

Again, all classes are viable in all content.

Leveling

Basics

Level 1-98: Feral
Level 101-110: Balance

Before you can be a restoration druid, you need to level. If you are lucky enough to get into a dungeon while leveling, you may use the rest of this guide for advice. In the meantime, you will want to level using a Balance or Feral spec. On WoW-Freakz, the best leveling spec is Feral until the higher levels. At some point after level 98, you may find it more advantageous to switch to Balance.

For most of the leveling process, Feral provides greater DPS and movement speed.
When you reach the higher levels, the DPS output of Feral and Balance becomes more equitable. More importantly, now that you are in the more populated end-game landscape, DPS becomes less important than being able to tag enemies quickly, making the ranged abilities of Balance more attractive.

For the dedicated, a druid can be leveled from 1 to 110 in a single day. Concentrate on doing quests, not grinding mobs. Try to do quests that are your level or above. Follow the Adventure Guide if you get stuck.

Note that there is much to be said about leveling more slowly - taking in the world, the lore, and generally savoring the experience. You will spend quite a bit of time at level cap and a few days (or even weeks) will not make much of a difference in the long-run.

Feral Leveling

Tier 1 / Level 15
Predator / Blood Scent / Lunar Inspiration
Predator enables Tiger’s Fury to constantly be up, and saves Energy. It provides the largest DPS increase when leveling.

Tier 2 / Level 30
Renewal / Displacer Beast / Wild Charge
You should not need the healing from Renewal, so we will go with one of the Movement traits, which enables faster leveling.
Displacer Beast does not require a target to work, but Wild Charge has the shorter cooldown. Because you will likely be mounting for long distances, Wild Charge tends to be the better option.

Tier 3 / Level 45
Balance Affinity / Guardian Affinity / Restoration Affinity
You should not need the damage reduction or healing from Guardian and Restoration affinity, so we will go with Balance Affinity for a DPS increase.
Balance Affinity gives a 5 yard increase to ALL your abilities, including melee abilities. This enables you to attack sooner in melee and gives your AoE abilities a wider range. It greatly increases leveling speed.

Tier 4 / Level 60
Mighty Bash / Mass Entanglement / Typhoon
This is the crowd control tier.
For leveling, you will probably find Mighty Bash the most useful. It serves as an extra interrupt against heals and can stop heavily-damaging attacks that might otherwise require you to spend time healing.
However, there is value in Mass Entanglement if you want to stop a group of creatures while you gather a quest item and then run off before they escape.

Tier 5 / Level 75
Soul of the Forest / Incarnation: King of the Jungle / Jagged Wounds
Incarnation: King of the Jungle - This is useful when leveling because most quests are either kill a big mob or round up a bunch of little mobs and then AoE them down. Either way, this ability’s CD tends to line of rather well.
Soul of the Forest - If you prefer to take on mobs more slowly, or mobs are more spread out, then Soul of the Forest is the better choice.

Tier 6 / Level 90
Sabertooth / Brutal Slash / Savage Roar
Brutal Slash is a great AoE improvement.
If you are not doing much AoE, then you will likely want to select another talent.

Tier 7 / Level 100
Moment of Clarity / Bloodtalaons / Elune's Guidance
Moment of Clarity provides the largest DPS increase.
However, if you spending time are casting a lot of Regrowth or Entangling Roots for some reason, then Bloodtalons might be the better DPS choice.

Balance Leveling

Tier 1 / Level 15
Force of Nature / Warrior of Elune / Starlord
A strong passive DPS increase. The on-use talents are less useful in the end-game because you will often be fighting side-by-side with others.

Tier 2 / Level 30
Renewal / Displacer Beast / Wild Charge
Displacer Beast enables you to move more quickly, speeding up the leveling process.

Tier 3 / Level 45
Feral Affinity / Guardian Affinity / Restoration Affinity
Feral Affinity increases your movement speed, increasing your leveling speed.
If you are having troubles with incoming damage, then you may want Guardian Affinity instead. Note that in addition to a straight damage reduction, it gives Frenzied Regeneration, a strong heal after taking heavy damage.

Soul of the Forest / Incarnation: chosen of Elune / Stellar Flare
Soul of the Forest provides a solid general DPS increase.
Stellar Flare is a strong alternative.

Tier 6 / Level 90
Shooting Stars / Astral Communion / Blessing of the Ancients
Astral Communion allows strong burst damage on a relatively short cooldown, which works well with the nature of questing.
Alternatively, Shooting Stars provides good consistent damage.

Tier 7 / Level 100
Fury of Elune / Stellar Drift / Nature’s Balance
Stellar Drift enables strong AoE damage.

Races

Summary

All races are viable and close in power level. If aesthetics and lore mean nothing to you:
> Night Elf if Alliance
> Troll if Horde
> Tauren if Horde and playing Tank spec more than Healing spec

The biggest decision when choosing a race is whether you will choose to be with the Alliance or ‘For the Horde!’, as this limits which guilds you may join.

After that, you need to balance minor racial bonuses versus aesthetics. The racial bonuses provide minute differences in advantage, so it is perfectly acceptable to choose a race because of its appearance, dance, or lore, or theme.

Night Elves

Touch of Elune: Increases your Haste by 1% during the night and increases your Critical Strike by 1% during the day. A direct output (healing/DPS) increase.

Quickness: Increases your chance to dodge melee and ranged attacks by 2%, and your movement speed by 2%. The increased doding chance directly decreases damage. The increased movement speed indirectly increases output and decreases damage.

Shadowmeld: Activate to slip into the shadows, reducing the chance for enemies to detect your presence. Lasts until cancelled or upon moving. Any threat is restored versus enemies still in combat upon cancellation of this effect. This is particularly useful during large Mythic+ pulls.

Nature Resistance: Reduces Nature damage taken by 1%.

Wisp Spirit: Transform into a wisp upon death, increasing speed by 75%.

Worgen

Viciousness: Increases critical strike chance by 1%.

Darkflight: Activates your true form, increasing current movement speed by an additional 40% for 10 sec.

Aberration: Reduces Shadow and Nature damage taken by 1%.

Running Wild: Drop to all fours to run as fast as a wild animal.

Flayer: Skinning skill increased by 15 and allows you to skin faster.

Two Forms: Switch between Human and Worgan forms.

Taurens

Brawn: Critical strike bonus damage and healing increased by 2%.

Endurance: Increases your Stamina by 197 (scales with level). At level 110, you will get get 1283 extra health.

Nature Resistance: Reduces Nature damage taken by 1%.

War Stomp: Stuns up to 5 enemies within 8 yds for 2 sec. War Stomp only stuns for 2s. This means that it is most effective as an interrupt, rather than a crowd control. In fact, because each crowd control often reduces the effectiveness of future similar crowd controls, this skill will often be a detriment in situations requiring crowd control.

Cultivation: Herbalism skill increased by 15 and you gather herbs faster than normal herbalists.

Trolls

Berserking: Increases your haste by 15% for 10 sec. A mini-cooldown for when you need it.
* Healing: Cast heals faster and HoTs heal 15% more.
* DPS: Cast Star Surge faster, enabling decent burst DPS during DPS check phases.
If you forget to use your cooldowns, then the flat bonus from Taurens would be more useful to you.

Regeneration: Health regeneration rate increased by 10%. 10% of total Health regeneration may continue during combat. This is equivalent to healing 0.11% of your maximum health every 2 seconds while in combat.

Da Voodoo Shuffle: Reduces the duration of all movement impairing effects by 15%. Trolls be flippin' out mon! Less useful for druids than other classes, since Druids can shapeshift out of such effects.

Beast Slaying: Experience gains from killing Beasts increased by 20%.

Mobile Vendor / Repair

Buy a Traveler's Tundra Mammoth either from the Vote Shop (50 Vote Points) or from Mei Francis in Dalaran (20,000g).
This mount will enable you to Repair and Vendor items any time you are about to mount. It is equivalent to a large number of bag slots.

Artifact Traits & Relics - G’Hanir, the Mother Tree

Best Trait Order

Best Relics

Choose relics based on their ilevel. If you have two with the same ilevel, use the highest one on the the list below:
1. Persistence (Increases the duration of Moonfire, Rejuvenation, and Sunfire by 1 sec)
2. Knowledge of the Ancients (Increases mana regeneration by 2%)
3. Grovewalker (Increases all healing over time you do by 1%)
4. Infusion of Nature (Reduces the mana cost of Wild Growth by 2%)
5. Essence of Nordrassil / Eternal Restoration (Increases healing done by Efflorescence by 5% / Increases the duration of Essence of G'Hanir by 1 sec)
6. Natural Mending (Natural Mending)8
7. Seeds of the World Tree / Blessing of the World Tree / Armor of the Ancients

Stat Priorities

Generally, you will want to select the piece of gear with the highest ilevel. The exception to this rule is if it has Versatility, in which case you will only want to use it if it is at least 10 ilevels higher.

Ideally, you will have multiple sets of equipment:
Dungeons: Mastery > Haste > Critical Strike >>> Versatility
Raids: Haste > Mastery > Critical Strike >>> Versatility
PvP: Highest ilevel gear (stats do not matter)

Gems and Tertiary Stats (Leech, Avoidance, Speed, and Indestructible) are worth slightly less than 5 ilevels. Rounded:
* Leech: 5 ilevel each for the first 2-3.
* Gems: 5 ilevels each.
* Avoidance: 3-5 ilevels
* Speed: 1 ilevels (Druids can use almost all their abilities on the move). Worth more if you do not know the scripts and are reacting late.
* Indestructible: 0 ilevels.

Enchants

Neck: Mark of the Trained Soldier
Back: Binding of Intellect
Rings: Binding of Mastery or Binding of Haste

Consumables

Long-Term Buffs:
* Flask of the Whispered Pact
* Defiled Augment Rune - If you can afford it, use it for difficult content. Most guilds do not expect you to have this in raids.

Foods:
* Mastery Food: Barracuda Mrglgagh
* Haste Food: Suramar Surf and Turf

Potions:
* Potion of Prolonged Power
* Leytorrent Potion
* Ancient Rejuvenation Potion (or Ancient Mana Potion if on a budget)

Potions of Prolonged Power are often used for pre-potting (using right before a pull for extra throughput). If mana is not a problem, you may use it during an encounter as well. Otherwise, use one of the mana potions.

If mana is a concern: Use the Leytorrent Potion if there is time in the encounter where you do not need to be putting out healing. Otherwise, use the Rejuvenation Potion.

Legendary Items

Dungeons: Velen’s Future Sight and Xavaric's Magnum Opus.
Raids: Velen’s Future Sight and Tearstone of Elune. (Swap in Xavaric's Magnum Opus for certain bosses.)

Best in Slot

Velen's Future Sight - Exceptionally powerful legendary. Restoration Druids naturally have a high overhealing, benefit significantly from stat-stick style trinkets, and prefer on-use healing effects to random procs. This legendary provides an efficiency return on our overhealing in addition to an HPS increase on an already solid stat stick.

Xavaric's Magnum Opus - Offers a strong and consistent effective health increase, providing an exceptional amount of healing over a fight. Also comes with a lot of extra secondary stats.

Tearstone of Elune - Good if you are using Wild Growth more often to deal with heavy AoE damage. Exceptional in 7.1.5 raiding (before it was nerfed in a later patch) with the 4-piece raid bonus.

Situational

The Dark Titan's Advice - Good if you need additional tank or other single-target healing.

Sephuz's Secret - Good in Mythics with the Entangling Roots Talent.

Abilities

Most of your skills are instant-cast, so they can - and often should - be used while moving.

Single-Target Heal-over-Times (HoTs)

If a HoT is refreshed, then up to 30% of the remaining time will be added to the new HoT.

Rejuvenation
This is your most frequently used skill. It is important to balance mana usage against healing throughput:
→ If cast on a damaged target, it is exceptionally mana-efficient.
→ If cast preventatively on a target who is about to take damage, it not only provides healing, but it provides a mastery bonus to other spells you cast when the damage occurs. If you use the Abundance talent (a decent option for Mythics Keys), casting preventative Rejuvenations can also increase your critical chance for Re-growths and decrease the casting time of Healing Touch.

Lifebloom
Aim for 95+% up-time. Not only is Lifebloom mana-efficient, it gives mana-free Regrowth procs (Clearcasting). You can create a warning that indicates when it is expiring and when it is down.
If you refresh it within the last 30% of the HoT (4.5s), then in addition to not losing anything, the target will also get a free Bloom effect.
This ability is enhanced by the legendary item The Dark Titan's Advice, essentially turning it into a mini-emergency heal.

Cenarion Ward
An extra HoT for stacking even more Mastery. It is usually best used on cooldown unless you know a target is about to take serious damage soon.

AoE Healing

Efflorescence
Efflorescence heals players in an area over the course of 30s.
Efflorescence should be kept on largest group taking damage. Usually this is the melee group, but it might be the ranged group. It is costly mana-wise, so only place it when people will stand it in for at least 15-30s (depending on how much you need to balance throughput vs mana usage).
The Spring Blossoms talent (a strong choice is raids) gives Efflorescence a HoT.
The following macro will enable you to immediately cast Efflorescence at your mouse location (rather than also having to click the ground), enabling you to cast it faster.
Code:
#showtooltip Efflorescence
/cast [@cursor] Efflorescence

Wild Growth
Use Wild Growth when 5+ people are injured in a raid or 4+ people are injured in a dungeon.

Active Mitigation

Ironbark
“Active Mitigation” is extremely important in certain encounters because it completely prevents or negates certain attacks (not just a percent of the damage). Communicate with other players so you can stagger your active mitigation skills during these encounters.

Active mitigation is most effective when used proactively, so it is important to learn the encounters and anticipate incoming damage.

Barkskin
Barkskin costs nothing to use (no mana cost and does not use a global cooldown), so use it liberally. Just make sure it is available when you need it.

Crowd Control

Crowd Control decreases incoming damage, although it does not count as “Active Mitigation.”

Do not forget to use these abilities!
If you are not using them, then you are probably doing something wrong.

Ursol's Vortex
Extremely useful when doing certain mythic+ keys.
If an overwhelmingly large group of mobs is chasing you, then this will save your life by slowing the mobs down until the tank can get aggro.
There are certain mobs on high-level mythic keys that simply cannot be tanked because they received enough buffs to one-shot the tank. This ability slows them down while the tank kites them until the DPS can kill them.
When doing a necrotic key, tanks will occasionally need to reset their debuff stacks. This ability helps ensure they can, particularly when paired with Entangling Roots
Useful in PvP when being attacked by melee.
The following macro will enable you to cast it at your mouse location, rather than clicking the ground, enabling you to cast it faster:
Code:
#showtooltip Ursol's Vortex
/cast [@cursor] Ursol's Vortex

Good for Battlegrounds in general.

Typhoon /
Pushes back enemies and dazes them. Situationally useful.
Good for Battlegrounds where you can push enemies off cliffs.

Mighty Bash
Stun a target for 5s.
Many mobs that you would want to use this against in PvE are immune to it.
Arguably the strongest Arena talent. Good in Arenas for stunning enemy healers, high-damage DPS, and flag-carriers.

Entangling Roots
When doing a necrotic key, tanks will occasionally need to reset their debuff stacks. This ability helps ensure they can, particularly when paired with Ursol’s Vortex.

Emergency Healing

These are your larger heals, the skills with cooldowns longer than 30s.

Swiftmend

Essence of G'Hanir
Doubles the tick rate of all your HoTs. It is like a mini-tranquility.

Flourish
Increases the duration of all HoTs. It is best used when you have Cenarion Ward, Wild Growth, and a large number of Rejuvenations up.
Note that it delays Lifebloom’s Bloom effect.

Wild Growth starts healing high and then declines over its duration: 7 6 5 4 3 2 1
If Flourish is used with Wild Growth, the healing output will be the same no matter where you use it during the 7 seconds of Wild Growth; however, it will change the throughput distribution.
Used at the beginning:
7 7 6 6 5 5 4 4 3 3 2 2 1
Used in the middle:
7 6 5 4 7 6 5 4 3 3 2 2 1
Used near the end:
7 6 5 4 3 2 7 6 5 4 3 2 1

Frenzied Regeneration
This is your emergency self-heal if you just took spike damage. Do not underestimate the power of a skill that can easily heal 1 million damage over 3 seconds (If you are tank spec, it is even better. I’ve seen this skill heal over 5 million damage on tanks I was healing).

Berserking (Troll Racial Ability)
Increases your haste by 15% for 10s. This strengthens everything.
Heals: You can cast a lot for Rejuvenations and other spells in a short period of time, and all of your HoTs will not tick faster. This is great for when the raid or group is taking burst damage.
DPS: You can stack this with Bloodlust for some decent damage during DPS races.

Rebirth / Revive
In raids, you should generally not use your Rez ability unless the leader calls for it. A raid group can only use a certain number of rez’s during each encounter. Once they are all used, no one else may rez, even if they have the ability off cooldown.

Direct Heals

Direct Heals are a special type of heal. It is even more important to know this classification on WoW-Freakz, as multiple items that are supposed to proc on heal are bugged to only work on direct heals, rather than all heals.

Regrowth
Ideally, you would only be using this when Clearcasting in raids.
In high-level Mythic Keys, you will use it considerably more often, as you are often able to drink for at least a couple seconds between pulls.

Healing Touch

Many druids do not even have a hotkey for this skill. You can probably get away with never using it.
That being said, this skill can be quite useful in combination with Abundance. Abundance is taken for it’s benefit to Regrowth, but it really helps Healing Touch too.

Utility Abilities

Nature's Cure
This is your dispel. It is relatively expensive to use compared to other classes, so limit it’s usage in raids or you will go out of mana.

In certain encounters, you will want to use it on cooldown, despite the mana cost. Consider adding a WeakAuras icon and sound effect so that you know the moment it is ready.

Innervate
When this is up, you will ideally use Wild Growth and Efflorescence each once over the duration and spend the rest of the time spamming Rejuvenations. In dungeons, if a tank is taking extreme spike damage, you might want to use Regrowths instead of Rejuvenations.

Displacer Beast
Extremely useful for getting out of or jumping over damaging terrain.
In Dungeons, it can get to the next pull early, allowing you extra time to drink and thereby increasing your mana supply.

Dash
Similar to Displacer Beast.

Prowl
Useful for avoiding mobs when questing.

Growl
It will be extremely rare that you will use this ability, but bind it anyways. You might save a PuG raid if the off-tank is dead, disconnects, or is not paying attention.

DPS

If you have the time and mana to spare, keep Moonfire and Sunfire up on targets that will live long enough for their duration. Otherwise, stick to Wrath.

For lower-level keys, you may want to choose Feral Affinity instead of Guardian affinity and then do Cat Form damage in between healing so that Dungeon is completed quicker.

Sunfire
Does AoE damage over time.
It is instant cast. Unless you are in a situation where the tank does not want any pre-HoTs so you don’t draw aggro, you can use this when running through multiple mob packs. Worst case, you have Bear Form -> Frenzied Regeneration -> DPS, then back to group healing when the tank stops.

Moonfire
Deals single-target damage over time. It is also instant-cast, so it can be used on the move.
Moonfire (and Bear Form) are some of the few skills you can use if you get Nature-Locked (happens most in PvP). If you get Nature-Locked, use this skill; don’t waste global cooldowns.

Wrath
A mana-free way to DPS. Has an induction.

Thrash
AoE damage and a DoT on all nearby enemies.
This skill is good to have in your Bear Form macro. For example:
Code:
#showtooltip Frenzied Regeneration
/castsequence reset=1 Bear Form, Frenzied Regeneration, Thrash, Moonfire, Thrash

You have limited options while Frenzied Regeneration is healing you, so you might as well contribute to DPS. For reference, you can also use Moonfire, Mangle, Ursol’s Vortex, Thorns, and crowd control talents (Mighty Bash / Mass Entanglement / Typhoon) while Frenzied Regeneration is running. You can even use Barkskin, but it is generally not recommended to use multiple defensives at the same time (Bear Form increases armor by 200%) so that you have them available later.

Talents

Tier 1 / Level 15
Prosperity / Cenarion Ward / Abundance

Cenarion Ward is generally the best talent for all situations. It synergizes particularly well with Mastery, Flourish, and Essence of G’Hanir.

Abundance iis a strong alternative for dungeons. It provides the most emergency healing, since Regrowth may be used more frequently. Also, mana is somewhat less of a concern in dungeons than in raids.

Prosperity is the least-useful emergency heal, unless it is taken in combination with the talent Soul of the Forest. Unfortunately, that would mean sacrificing the extremely useful Cultivation talent. Therefore, this is generally considered a poor pick.

Tier 2 / Level 30
Displacer Beast / Renewal / Wild Charge
Displacer Beast is generally the best talent for all situations. It helps with damage avoidance, moving to far-off players in need of healing, and moving to areas needing soaking. In dungeons, it helps with quick movement to the next pull, so you have more time to drink and regen mana.
Renewal can be a decent choice if you expect to take heavy spike damage and normal healing (including Frenzied Regeneration) is not enough.

Tier 3 / Level 45
Balance Affinity / Feral Affinity / Guardian Affinity
Guardian Affinity is generally the best option for high level content. It not only decreases all damage taken, it provides access to Frenzied Regeneration.
Feral Affinity is generally the best option for lower level content, as it increases your DPS (cat form) when healing is not needed.
Balance Affinity is enjoyed by those who like to have the extra range.

Tier 4 / Level 60
Mighty Bash / Mass Entanglement / Typhoon
Refer to the Crowd Control section for information.

Tier 5 / Level 75
Soul of the Forest / Incarnation: Tree of Life / Cultivation
Cultivation is generally the best talent for Dungeons and Raids.
However, some people prefer Incarnation: Tree of Life or Soul of the Forest.
They are all viable for PvP.

Tier 6 / Level 90
Spring Blossoms / Inner Peace / Germination
Generation is generally the best talent for Dungeons and PvP.
If you don’t swap talents between bosses, Spring Blossoms is generally the best talent for Raids. Ideally, you will switch between the three depending upon the boss.

Tier 7 / Level 100
/ Stonebark / [url=][/url] / / Flourish
Flourish is generally the best for PvE.
Stonebark can be good for PvP.

Rotations / Skill Useage

Keep Efflorescence under the largest group of player.

Keep Lifebloom on the player taking the highest amount of damage (usually, but always, the tank). Alternatively, when boosting keys, it may be useful to keep on the low-ilevel player as a pre-HoT.

Use Crowd Control skills if they would be useful. This is particularly important in PvP.

Cast Regrowth when you get a Clearcasting proc. If no one needs it, cast it on the tank for an extra HoT.

Use Innervate when below 90% mana and expecting moderate AoE damage. Cast Efflorescence, Wild Growth, and as many Rejuvenations as you can over it’s duration.

Use Cenarion Ward as needed, often on cooldown.

Cast Rejuvenations on the players taking damage or who are about to take damage.

Cast Wild Growth when 5-6 or more players may make use of it (4-5 in Dungeons).

Use Ironbark to mitigate heavy single-target damage.
Use Swiftmend for emergency single-target healing. If it is on cooldown, use Regrowth
Use Essence of G’Hanir and Flourish to deal with heavy AoE damage.
Use Tranquility to deal with extreme AoE damage. Your raid leader may assign you a time to use this skill.

When healing is not needed, contribute to DPS. Use Sunfire and Moonfire if mana is not an issue. Then use Solar Wrath (it costs no mana). If you have the Feral Affinity talent, use Cat Form for damage.

AddOns

When downloading addons, make sure to get the older 7.1.5 versions. For you convenience, WoW-Freakz provides many useful addons on their website: 7.1.5 Addons

UI Replacement
ElvUI is an excellent universal UI Replacement. It comes with a number of good default changes, and enables you to do virtually anything with one addon, rather than downloading dozens of addons. If you have any problems configuring it, look online for the answer, post your question below, or contact me directly.

Heal on Mouseover Addons
ElvUI does this by default.
By default, a healer must click a target and then press a key to cast an ability. However, many players reduce these two inputs down to one, greatly increasing healing output. If you do not use ElvUI, use one of the addons below:
* Grid+Clique
* VuhDo
* Healbot
* Healium

If you want to incorporate a skill (like Rejuvenation) into a macro: /cast [@mouseover] Rejuvenation

Raid and Dungeon Notifications
You should never go into a raid or dungeon without one of the following:
* Deadly Boss Mods
* BigWigs (for raids) & LittleWigs (for dungeons)

WeakAuras
WeakAuras provides visual and auditory notifications of important events, such as when debuffs are inflicted, buffs expires, and skills come off cooldown.
Examples coming later.

Healing / DPS Meters
This is optional. It helps you see how well you and others are doing. It is useful if you need to decide which DPS to rez, as it tells you who does the most damage (damage does not always equate to ilevel).
* Recount - Most popular
* Details - Alternative to Recount
* Skada - Lightweight version of Recount

Macros

CancelAura
Takes you out of your form or off your mount so you can use Flight Points
Code:
/cancelaura Bear Form
/cancelaura Cat Form
/cancelaura Moonkin Form
/cancelaura Travel Form
/cancelaura Traveler's Tundra Mammoth

Drink
Automatically drinks the least-costly item. If you have the free Conjured Mana Buns, it will only use that. If you are missing it, it will use Ley-Enriched Water. If you failed to keep a supply, it burns your emergency supply (you can take that part out if you want).
Code:
/use Barracuda Mrglgagh
/use Ley-Enriched Water
/use Conjured Mana Bun

Efflorescence
Cast Efflorescence with a single mouse button, rather than two. If you have trouble placing Mushrooms without seeing exactly where it will land, you can include two buttons, one with this macro and one with just the skill.
Code:
#showtooltip
/cast [@cursor] Efflorescence

Frenzied Regeneration
Spam this macro to quickly go into Bear Form and then start dealing damage.
Code:
/castsequence reset=1 Bear Form, Frenzied Regeneration, Thrash, Moonfire, Thrash

Mount
This macro allows you to put multiple mounts on a single skill bar slot. Press the regular button for your mount (replace the Jade Pandaren Kite with your mount name), or hold down Alt or Control while pressing it for a different mount.
Code:
/use [mod:alt] Traveler's Tundra Mammoth; [mod:ctrl] Azure Water Strider; Jade Pandaren Kite

Fast Travel
This macro chooses the fastest movement option.
Code:
#showtooltip Dash
/use [form:3][indoors] !Cat Form; [noform:3] !Travel Form;
/use [form:3, nocombat][indoors] !Dash;

If you have the glyph, replace the 3 with a 4.

Ursol's Vortex
Cast Ursol's Vortex with a single mouse button, rather than two.
Code:
#showtooltip
/cast [@cursor] Ursol's Vortex

Keybindings

For most content, you can use virtually any input setup you are comfortable with. However, there are setups that can make you much for effective.

Most hardcore raiders and PvPer’s bind A and D to Strafe Left and Strafe Right, and use the mouse for turning.
When playing a Restoration Druid, I take it a step further and bind Q and E to the turning keys.

Consider investing in a gaming mouse. The extra mouse buttons will greatly increase your effectiveness, once you practice with it a while.
